A brave new ensemble
This trend literally oozes youthfulness, feels fashion stylist Zohara Jamal. She adds, “The bralette is a trend that is perfect for young people. If I were to ever sport a bralette it would have to be layered with something on top. How it will end up looking depends on how comfortable one is with sporting it.” Styling a bralette can be tricky as you do not want to end up showing too much skin. Designer Prerana Sarkar suggests, “Bralettes pair very well with chiffon sarees. You can also wear it with a long skirt that is printed or has floral designs. If you’re going for a more Indo-Western look, jhumkas should be your choice of jewellery while keeping the neck bare.” Western styling and bralettes work together very well. Zohara says, “A bralette can be paired either with high waist pants, jeans, maxi skirts or even paperback shorts. Since it’s the summer season, a bralette is a must have in your wardrobe because it’s nice and airy.” While bralettes are a big no-no for a professional setting for partying, its a hell ya! “Bralettes embellished with stones either paired with a high waist skirt or a plain chiffon saree should be an easy choice to wear to a party,” shares Ranjeeta Sundar.
Simple, simple and only simple jewellery works with this trend. Prerana adds, “If possible, avoid anything on the neck. Otherwise a small pendant and a stud is all you need to complete this look.” To nail this trend, just follow a few tips. “I respect a blazer too much to pair a bralette with it since a blazer is made for an official setting. Avoid a bralette in many colours and a lot of accessories,” Ranjeeta concludes.
