This vodka is made from actual clouds!
Joe Fenten was gazing at the Hilton Head Island covered in dense clouds, when he wondered if it could be used in the distillation process. Thus, the engineer founded Aermoor, the cloud-sourced vodka.
Spurred on by just the thought of getting cloud-based vodka, he went on to design Air Water Generator (AWG) — a machine that taps into the water vapour.
The AWG further converts the vapour into pure alkaline water, which is used to proof down pure and crisp vodka.
“As long as there is humidity in the air, we’re able to generate a proofing water unlike any other spirit company in the world. The water is less acidic, creating a smooth mouthfeel, less stringency, and better drinkability,” Joe told Esquire.
However, this is not the first time that water vapour has been used to make vodka. Two years ago, San Francisco’s Hangar 1 distillery launched limited edition vodka from Bay Area fog called Fog Point.
