Lady Gaga to produce wine
Hollywood celebrities and musicians diversifying into the liquor market, often branding a drink after them, is a trend on the upswing. Joining the likes of bands like Iron Maiden and Motorhead, Lady Gaga is reportedly set to launch her own line of wines.
A TMZ report claims that the singer will name the brand on her own 2016 song, Grigio Girls, from the album Joanne. Gaga’s company has reportedly filed for paperwork required to produce the tipple. While the style Gaga will prefer to sell is a mystery, her company papers show that besides wine, she’s applied to produce wine cocktails, wine punches and coolers as well.
Interestingly, Lady Gaga is no stranger to the world of food and drinks, as her parents own an Italian restaurant in New York City, called Joanne Trattoria. She’s also in the past revealed how the song Grigio Girls was inspired by her friend, Sonja, who has cancer and how Gaga and her friends would get together, pop a bottle open and cry for her. A line of wine named on her friend’s song seems perfect then.
