The curious case of the stolen vodka
The $1.3 million vodka, which was stolen from a bar in Copenhagen, was recovered by the Danish police recently. Unfortunately, the bottle turned out to be empty.
The Russo-Baltique variety of vodka was made with 3 kg of gold and 3 kg of silver, making it the most expensive variety of vodka in the world. The bottle itself was closed, with a cap encrusted in diamonds.
This luxurious bottle was found rolling around in a construction site in Copenhagen, confirmed Café 33 owner, Brian Ingberg. The owner got an anonymous phone call that said that they had turned over the bottle to the police.
The bottle had not been insured and had been on loan from a Russian businessman, making it one of the 1,200 bottles stocked at Café 33. Surprisingly, though, none of the other ones were stolen and even the bottle that was found was completely intact.
The authorities are still investigating this bizarre theft. Whoever it is seems to have some great taste!
