Pizza infused with vodka? Philly eatery toasts one
If you’re a pizza fan (let’s face it, who isn’t?) and your choice of tipple is vodka, this Philadelphia eatery has a treat for you — a vodka-infused pizza. Now, you might think that they probably just sprinkle some boozy vodka on the pizza for effect, but the truth is that most ingredients in the dish are infused with the drink.
So, not only is the pie made from vodka-infused dough, it’s also layered with ricotta cheese and sundried tomatoes that come soaked in the drink. It comes sprinkled with a vodka blush sauce too.
The invention belongs to Italian fine-dine restaurant Scarpetta Philadelphia, who have teamed up with a local distillery called Stateside Urbancraft vodka for the boozy pizza.
It comes as no surprise to anyone then that you have to be 21 or older to order the pizza. And while the pizza costs $10 during dinner hours, there’s a happy hour discount on it — it does contain vodka, doesn’t it? — and costs $6 during the fun hours.
