13-year-old with head injury wakes up a day before doctors pull the plug
There are certain illnesses which leave little room for recovery as even families at times decide to give up. But just when it all seems to be coming to an end, a glimmer of hope changes everything.
13-year-old Trenton McKinley from Alabama suffered brain trauma when a utility trailer flipped and fell on his head back in March. He was on life support when doctors said he won’t live and told his parents he matched with five children who needed organs.
His parents signed the documents for organ donation and just before they were about to pull the plug, he showed signs of hope. After his injury, Trenton had also died on the operating table for 15 minutes and doctors thought he won’t be same again.
Now Trenton is recovering as he needs surgery to connect half of his skull and still has seizures. He is now able to walk, talk and is even able to do maths in what is being described as a miracle.
Trenton also said that when he was unconscious he found himself in an open field walking straight.
