In today’s world, anxiety is a common occurrence. Work pressure, coupled with a fast life and a number of responsibilities often push people towards anxiety related issues. Anxiety can affect the health which may make a person suffer from an anxiety disorder. Research suggests that people suffering from anxiety run a higher risk of experiencing physical health problems, too.

We list a few ways in which you can combat anxiety

Exercise: Exercising helps in improving a person’s ability to cope. Anxiety worsense when one does not exercise, because the muscles turn that pent up energy into physical stress, which in turn becomes mental stress.

However, for people who exercise, not only reduce that extra energy, but also improve hormone balance, release neurotransmitters that improve mood, and improve breathing.

Living Healthy: The healthier lifestyle the body has the better it works and reduces risk of anxiety. A happy, good lifestyle cope with anxiety much more easily.

Yoga:  Yoga is a type of exercise that has additional benefits to reducing anxiety. People with anxiety often need to slow down, and yoga gives that opportunity. It is slow but as challenging as any other form of exercise. Yoga also teaches breathing techniques that can be very valuable for fighting anxiety.

Memory Creation: Creating memories is another way of combating enxiety, experts say. This can be very hard for those with severe anxiety, since it requires them to go out into the world, but the more one can force themselves to enjoy every day, the less they will deal with stress.

Relaxation Strategies: Visualization is a great relaxation strategy that involves imagining the body along with the five senses in a more relaxed place. These strategies give themind an opportunity to be calmer, so that it has a chance to re-learn how to cope with stress naturally.

Distractions: Distractions are also an important part of anxiety management. When anxious, thoughts tend to become one of the greatest hindrances. Distractions allows one to stop focusing on those thoughts. Talking on the phone with someone you like about positive is a good idea.

Journaling:  While writing journals may seem juvenile to some, it actually is a great tool to combat anxiety. First, it allows for the thoughts to flow out of the system and it puts the thoughts in a permanent place, and that tells your brain that it doesn’t have to focus on remembering them as much as it did previously.
