Carefully chosen trinkets can instantly turn your boring office outfit into something more stylish. Be it statement pieces that are bold and daring or simple, elegant pearl-drop earrings can add a dose of oomph-factor and lift your spirits up on an otherwise dreary office day.
Ketan Chokshi, Co- Owner, Narayan Jewellers shares a few ideas on how to get the office look right:
Pearls are in vogue: Since a very long time, pearl jewellery has dominated office wear. Pearls have an aura about that they can be easily paired with any outfit. One can easily wear pearls with a simple dress or a shirt and denim. They can be also worn on suits. The best part about wearing pearls is their simplicity to wear them. If you ever find yourself on any given day, pearls are known to be your safest bet.
Statement necklaces: A statement jewellery can work well with a basic outfit. Statement necklaces are in trend these days, they are known to add a different colour to your personality. Statement necklaces can be worn with bright coloured dresses, and plain tops. Pair your statement neckpiece with an earring or a bangle are you are good to go. Care must always be taken in case of statement jewellery, one must never overdo them as it may spoil your entire outfit.
Less is more: If you are someone who does not prefer statement jewellery, you can always go with a more simple look. The same can be achieved with a delicate piece of jewellery, this allows you to explore a number of options as delicate jewellery is known to express one’s personality in a more subtle way.
Length of the jewellery matters: We come across jewellery pieces in various lengths, especially the necklace. Longer piece of necklace is known to be versatile in nature and can be easily paired with a number of outfits. Long necklaces are adorned with pendants, and small stones. No matter what pattern, color, or style you are wearing, long necklaces go well with any outfit of your choosing.
Should also match your skin tone: It is very important for you to match the jewellery with your skin tone as well. For a natural tone, silver is the preferred color. If you have dark colored hair, gold jewellery will look perfect on you. For a cooler skin tone, white gold is a great choice. And for a warm skin tone, go with yellow metals.
It is not easy to find the right mix of jewellery and outfit always. Make sure that you never over- accessorise. And try to find out the right balance between your professional look and your personal look. We are flooded with choices, but that can turn out to be confusing as well.
