Rare conditions causes toddler's head to balloon

Doctors said the boy will not survive unless a life saving surgery is performed, but his parents can't afford it.

Rare conditions at birth can leave children with life altering physical deformities but at times these conditions can also turn fatal if not attended to in time. While better healthcare can take care of these concerns, some families have to struggle for the lack of better options.

A Chinese toddler named Xin Xin is battling with a rare condition which has caused his head to balloon in size and apart from the pain the child faces death. With a head having the circumference of 70 cm, the boy has been given less time to live by doctors if he isn’t operated anytime soon.

The hospital says that if this goes on Xin Xin’s brain won’t be able to stand the pressure from within caused by fluids. But his parents who are migrant workers are struggling to find finances for a life saving surgery to help the child.

The situation of the parents is such that the mother sits with her child outside the hospital in desperation to beg for money for treatment.
