Eye on you

Using an angled brush would be the best way if you would like to experiment with a coloured gel liner.

Fall fashion shows have been nothing short of dramatic this year with splendid innovation on the runway. We can’t help but notice the make-up trends that designers have brought to the ramp with the 60s bold cat flick making a strong statement. But this year, they topped it off with a subtle pop of colour that makes quite the hard-hitting statement!

For most of us, the everyday make-up look is the conventional black eyeliner, but a coloured eye liner could be exactly what you’re looking for to create an effortless glam look. It’s bold and fun to line your eyes either on top or below (or both!) with a brighter shade. The most popular ones to go for are the blue/greens, teal, aquamarine and purple, invoking the true retro sense. Metallic shimmer shades of gold, silver are also very popular.

If you are using a coloured pencil, keep your cat flick simple with nude or shimmery tones of eye shadow as your line of colour needs to be the focal point.

Using an angled brush would be the best way if you would like to experiment with a coloured gel liner. While drawing, keep the line thin and precise, and as close as possible to the natural lash line for best results. You can also experiment using the traditional black and drawing a parallel coloured line, on the eyelid and below the lower water line too, thus creating a more fun and bolder look!

Go all out if you must and give a hand at the cat eye, double winged or a vintage liner using a rainbow of colours that brands have to offer in the cosmetic market today. So set that black liner aside for the moment, and add a splash of colour to your life!
