Eating more oily fish can reduce risk of health issues in old age by a quarter

This comes as the rising number of people living into old age has also seen chronic diseases increase among the population.

Ageing has numerous effects on people and health concerns increase as people grow older. But while people do try to stay fit in old age using physical exercise as well as other methods, simple dietary changes can work wonders for them.

Research has revealed that a diet consisting of more oily fish can reduce risk of health problems in old age by a quarter. Findings show that people who have higher levels of omega-3 fats in their blood are 24 per cent less likely to face dementia, cancer and heart diseases.

The fatty acids that can boost brain, heart and vision are found in salmon, mackerel and sardines. This comes as the rising number of people living into old age has also seen chronic diseases increase among the population.
