Women facing emotional and physical abuse in relationships has been a major cause for concern. Apart from the trauma they suffer for years to come, such treatment can also have a serious impact on their health.
Research has found that menopause symptoms may be worse for women who go through emotional and physical abuse. Chances of sleeplessness, vaginal issues and hypertension went up by 60 per cent for women in such cases.
Physical abuse increased chances of women suffering from night sweat by 50 per cent. This comes after another study showed how sexual assault and violence doubled the risk of anxiety and hypertension for women.
