Speaking on the Today show, Donald Belsito, a professor of dermatology at Columbia University Medical Centre said on some occasions lice and scabies were “possibly transmitted from trying on in the store.”
The person who tried the outfit before you may have has these issues. Store-bought clothes can also contain various harmful chemicals bad for the skin.

"When clothes are shipped, they’re also kept with some preservatives so that mould won’t grow on them during the shipping process if there’s moisture," dermatologist Lindsey Bordone from Columbia University Medical Center, told Self.

So don't forget to give your new clothes a good wash before you show off your new look.
