Hrithik Roshan talks about fitness

Celebrated actor speaks about getting into the fitness industry and shares tips on working out.

HRX, India's homegrown active wear brand was founded in November 2013 by Hrithik Roshan and Exceed Entertainment.

The collections that the brand presents are a combination of style and substance, drawn from Hrithik Roshan and his lifelong dedication to achieve the fittest version of himself.

Talking to this correspondent, Roshan talks about the journey of HRX, his brand goals and fitness mantra.

What does fitness mean to you?

It simply means being happy. Feeling the joy of being functionally strong and agile, to be able to discover new skills with your body, being able to breathe deep and feel the life force and peace and excitement of just being - to be so much a part of nature that the mere thought of chemical crutches like cigarettes and drugs automatically seem unnatural and unwanted.

Tell us a bit about HRX. Why did you decide to start it?

HRX has been conceived and created to serve as a platform for bringing like-minded people together and it stands strong on pillars like fashion, fitness and technology. It has a purpose to serve in the form of helping people become better versions of themselves with sustained effort and a strong belief.

A bunch of visionaries saw potential in the Indian landscape for a homegrown sportswear brand, research established the faith and I went ahead and took the leap of faith, which has paid off well and will in perpetuity because as I said HRX is about crafting a culture of fit living and not creating a fashion trend.

What is the brand philosophy of HRX and how does it aim to revolutionise the fitness scenario?

It is really simple, 'True happiness is simply being the best version of yourself.' Fashion and Fitness form the two most important pillars of HRX and Technology is the obvious underlying layer for a contemporary and relevant brand. HRX wishes to democratize fitness and make it available to anyone who aspires to live a happy, fit and fulfilling life.

How has the bent towards women’s collections been like? What has the response been like to it?

HRX forayed into women’s collection a couple of years ago and is working on growing the category now. HRX is a quintessential sportswear brand and women are as much into fitness nowadays as men are. Hence it is an important audience set that can’t be ignored or missed. There is a very strong sense of fashion and styling that is brought into women’s active wear in tandem with the international trends.

What is your biggest virtue when it comes to fitness? Your biggest vice?
