Turmeric's various health benefits for women
Turmeric has come to be known for its various health benefits.
It is commonly used in Indian dishes for its vibrant saffron colour and mild aroma. Dermatitis, colon cancer and diabetes are just some of the health issues previous studies indicate it could help treat.
Turmeric and curcumin are also used to treat various other health problems:
* Helps reduce inflammation
* Skin issues
* Boost liver function
* Helps weight loss
Now, research has found that women are better than men at absorbing its "medicinal curcumin” according to a report by the Daily Mail.
One way to boost curcumin absorption into the bloodstream is to mirror drug delivery methods in which the spice is put in liquid capsules to produce tiny nanomicelles.
A study found that "liquid nanomicelles were 185 times better absorbed than regular powdered supplements". However, scientists at the University of Hohenheim, Germany, found that there was a difference between the sexes. The discovered men's absorption rate was 114 higher, while women's was 277 times higher, the report revealed. Further research is needed to understand why.
How to use it to get the maximum benefit:
Add it to your curry: Combine turmeric with a pinch of black pepper to be able to absorb it.
Turmeric Powder: Get the freshest one you can find to get the most benefits.
Herbal teas: In Ayurvedic medicine, turmeric is added to coconut milk and consumed twice a day.
