IAS couple returns to work 48 hours after wedding
They spent just Rs. 500 for the whole affair!
Social conventions in India dictate that weddings are supposed to be grand affairs that need several days of preparation. However, two IAS officers have broken away from these shackles of norms by not just spending a nominal amount of Rs. 500 on their wedding but also resuming work after just 48 hours.
Vijayawada sub-collector Dr Saloni Sidana married Ashish Vashishta, an Indian Administrative Service officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, on Monday. They had a simple civil marriage and paid a court fee of Rs 500 at the office of Bhind additional district magistrate.
The pair had fallen in love while undergoing training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussorie, according to reports.
