Man was just wearing jeans and socks and had to be retrieved by officers after desperately crying out for help when he got trapped.
In another bizarre case, a suspected burglar was mocked online when he had to be rescued by police during a break-in, where he got stuck in a fried chicken shop’s extractor unit for seven hours.
The shirtless man was just wearing jeans and socks and had to be retrieved by officers after desperately crying out for help when he got trapped in a tight spot.
It was the public who spotted a pair of legs sticking out of the extractor space at DFC Chicken in Birmingham and police were called in to investigate the situation.
West Midlands Police took a hilarious picture which shows the alleged crook with his body half inside the window and his legs dangling out.
Shortly after being freed from the window, the 45-year-old man was taken to hospital and arrested on suspicion of burglary.
The West Midlands Response Team mocked him online and wrote on Twitter: '#dontgetstuck if your [sic] trying to break in. 5 hours alter shouting help #triptocustody by all means'
The officer on scene, Pc Willocks said that the extractor unit had been removed and the suspect had climbed in to the extractor outlet at around 2am but got stuck. He went on to add that he fire brigade had to come in and use the jaws of life to pull back all the extractor casing to release him.'
According to the restaurant manager, Kamran Hussain, he was called to the shop after an elderly resident heard the man shouting: 'Please help me, I'm stuck.'
According to Hussain, an old man, who saw the man dangling phoned the police who was let in through the front by him.
'He didn't really say much, they just got him down, arrested him and marched him away after taking his details. I think he was too embarrassed to say much really, he did a very stupid thing,” Hussain said.
Social media was quick to ridicule the situation with one Judith Broug saying, 'Trying really hard not to laugh' and Jim Nicholl tweeteing, 'Another fine mess Stanley. Must feel a right turkey!'
