On sultry mornings or amid the rush in a metro or a city bus, you cannot help but sweat and sweating is one way your body cools down. But sweating that leads to stained clothing, body odour, anxiety and even social isolation isn’t always cool. From dealing with the discomfort of sweat running down your sides to the embarrassment that ensues from sweat stains to the dread of being exposed, excessive sweating can look like it’s actually ruining your life.

But you’re not alone. Hollywood celebrities including Cameron Diaz, Halle Berry, Robert Pattison and many more are on the list of people who sweat excessively. On a daily dose, to deal with this, you can dress strategically, watch what you eat (spicy and fatty foods often trigger sweating), apply antiperspirants correctly and exercise regularly to combat stress and promote balance.

There are many safe treatments to deal with this and fractional micro needle radio frequency is one such treatment which is a non-ablative technology utilising minimally invasive micro-needles to deliver precisely controlled Bipolar RF energy directly into various depths of the skin. The Secret Micro-Needle Fractional RF System uses non-insulated micro-needles that are more effective and take care of both epidermal and dermal problems. Hence with this there is no need for additional superficial fractional RF treatments (SFRs). It differs from lasers as it uses an electric current rather than a light source to cause dermal coagulation.

The precisely arranged micro-needles (25/10 per head) emit RF energy without overlap, producing coagulated thermal zones that are uniform within the treatment area.

For the procedure, EMLA cream is applied an hour before procedure to numb the skin to make it more comfortable for the patient. Around two to three overlapping passes are given at high intensity for arm pit sweating.

Since RF Needling pierces the skin, pin point bleeding is common. Very occasionally, a slight crusting may develop in some areas. One should not pick or rub the area. The skin should be handled gently in the first week after the procedure. Vigorous rubbing with towel, application of retinoid or AHA based creams, sun exposure and any other abrasive procedure like bleaching should be avoided. There is minimal downtime. Mild redness or swelling is there which may last four to 10 hours post treatment.A soothing cream is applied on treated areas. During daytime, a broad spectrum sunscreen is advised. The treatment is quick lasting from a few minutes to an hour.
