Sonali Pradeep from Coimbatore who has recently won the Mrs India Universe Earth 2019 in Mauritius gets candid with Deccan Chronicle and talks about her highs and lows.

Hey, new mommys out there, what are you worrying about when you have dreams in your eyes? Sonali Pradeep is here to drag you out of all the negative thoughts and self-doubts. The woman from Coimbatore has won the recently concluded Mrs. India Universe Earth 2019 in Mauritius.

“Both my babies were born through C-section and after my second child I gained a lot of weight. And I developed a lot of health issues including excessive back pain, joint and knee pain and a feeling of heaviness. My doctor advised me to lose weight to get rid of all that trouble,” she says.

Friends would try to convince her to go for beauty pagents as they would be overwhelmed seeing her going through the transformation phase.  “They were amazed. And I lost 35 kgs in a span of eight months. And that motivated me further,” recalls Sonali, for whom fried food, preserved food, junk food and sugar are a big no.

Confidence and good physical and mental health are no doubt the recipe for success. What would have actually boosted her confidence was perhaps her winning the “Fit Mom” title in La Ramp Momo contest held in Coimbatore in 2015. “I went on to become Fashion Princess of Coimbatore in 2015 and then Mrs. Coimbatore in 2016. That motivated me to go for bigger events,” says Sonali who won the Mrs India, Tamil Nadu title in Goa in 2017. The Mauritius journey was fun and enlightening, with a lot of physical and mental preparation leading up to the pageant. “I did a lot of meditation and yoga. They provide you with stability. And I drink 4-5 litres of water per day,” says Sonali adding that women should not give up their dreams and that ‘health is wealth.’The 38-year-old skill development trainer will happily embrace the silver screens, upon getting good scripts, but for now she wants to focus on education of tribal children, girl children and women empowerment.
