Study shows women get less leisure time than men as they have to finish housework

While women get only 38 hours to themselves, men have 43 hours of leisure time every week.

As gender equality takes centre stage issues faced by working women have become a topic of discussion across the globe. While women work their way to the top in almost every field, are they getting the same amount of time for themselves as men?

Research has revealed that men in UK are actually enjoying five more hours of leisure every week as compared to women. While women get only 38 hours to themselves, men have 43 hours off work.

The reason for this is that women are working more by completing unpaid tasks including household chores and childcare. Meanwhile men get to spend more time on hobbies, recreation and socialising since they never seem to help with housework.

It was also observed that the inequality in leisure time taken by men and women has actually increased over time. Leisure hours also increase with age with 65 year olds taking the highest amount of time for leisure.
