Husband kills wife for changing TV channel

The man was watching the football but had stepped outside for a cigarette.

In a shocking case, an American man is accused of stabbing his wife to death because she turned of the TV while he was watching the American football game.

The 58-year-old Tony Thomas of Carlisle Arkansas became enraged when his wife Elke changed the channel while he had gone out to smoke.

He admitted to killing his wife and was charged with capital murder on Monday, according to investigators.

They say Thomas, who has since been jailed, stabbed her during an argument after she turned the game off.

Investigators on the scene found blood splattered across floor, walls, table and the television according to New York Post.

Investigators further found that he had dragged his wife's body through the kitchen, into the back garden and placed a blanket and tarp over it.

According to Lonoke County Sheriff Detective Anthony Counts’ affidavit, the man had gone outside to smoke and upon returning, he discovered that Elke had changed the channel.

He added, "He asked about the score and she began yelling at him and got in his face."

Thomas claims he blacked out during the attack and regained "consciousness" when he was standing over her body with a knife.

Deputies were already responding to the scene because a woman who had been at the home flagged down someone passing by to report the stabbing.
