Fifty shades of grey

According to Alok, 2020 will be the year of warm and cool neutralism. Move over, beige and coral, and make way for those grey shades. He says, “Grey tones and textures are taking over modern ceramic tiles in 2020. Grey, white, ivory, and similar variations are some of the hot colours to watch out for this year. Perfect pattern

2020 is the year for experimenting. As there is an increase in woodwork in the house nowadays, so playing with different patterns of laying tiles and colour becomes important. Alok adds, “white, beige and grey colour goes with pretty well with wood combinations and so rather than laying it in perry symmetrical pattern if one can organise it in a brick pattern or herringbone pattern it will really make the area more interesting. The whole idea is not only dealing with colour and style but also with the pattern of laying tile to make it look interesting.

Bigger and better

There is always a desire that ‘we wish it was bigger’, to make your space look bigger. Choosing the right combination of light and dark tile is important. Niches are something that will trend this year. On asking about what is the perfect way to increase that look in bathrooms, he answers, “The more fittings you will put in, the more crowded it will look and it will lose that feeling of personal space. To maximize spaces, niches work better. Also, you can complement it with a darker shade of antiskid floor tiles.
