Tamil vada seller gets money from Facebook campaign for surgery

Social media has proved to be a quite a boon for helpless people to get money for their treatment from donors all around the world. Recently, a Coimbatore man received immense support in the form of money after a filmmaker share his story on Facebook and now he can thankfully get his surgery done in time.

Coimbatore-based vada seller Javed Khan suffers from diabetes but his condition worsened and he had to get his foot amputated. Unfortunately, for him, it was a task to arrange for the money because he didn’t earn as much to afford the surgery. Aravind, a regular at his stall decided to visit Javed after his shop was closed for over two weeks when he got to know about his plight. 

The story of the 50-year-old who sells keema vada at Kottaimedu was shared by filmmaker Aravind and has got over 4,000 shares. People have gone all out to help him cover the costs of his operation along with the school fees of his two children. He has now received over 1.5 lakh from his regular customers as well as people from Dubai and other places.
