Terence Lewis walks for a social cause 'Celebrate Life' on Children's Day Eve
Mumbai: In an endeavour to support the children residing in orphanages and childcare institutions, renowned socialites, educationalist, lawyers, doctors, designers, singers and actors walked the ramp on 13th November at St. Regis Hotel, Mumbai. ‘Celebrate Life, Be Alive’ was a medley walk for a cause and art auction.
It witnessed the congregation of well-known personalities such as Terence Lewis, actress Madhoo, stylist Arjun Khanna, Narang, Sangeeta Singh, Savita Singh, Suman Agarwal, Shweta Shetty, , Ankur Khosla, Ahana Deol Vohra, , Sunita Rao and many more.
On the occasion, Terence Lewis said, "I feel I am fortunate to have received so much in life that I want to give back. There are so many not so fortunate children who need shelter, education to grow. On this day of Children's Day we should all make a difference in one child's life. I am supporting this event 'Celebrate Life' to raise funds and awareness for the cause. Let's do something little in whatever we can."
Farhana Vohra, an entrepreneur and a licensed business facilitator, dedicated to empower people to lead healthier, happier and successful lives. She has intertwined the entire event and has supported this cause for the last 5 years. Regarding her upcoming event she says: “I have always believed in giving back to the society and leading a life with a purpose. Having a family is the biggest strength of an individual. Yet there are many not-so fortunate children who do not have a family and struggle to receive even basic love and care. This event is especially curated for these children in an effort to give them a better life.”
The proceeds of the Art Auction will be donated to an NGO, Catalysts for Social Action which is committed to the welfare of children residing in orphanages and childcare institutions. This noble initiative by Catalysts for Social Action has resulted in beneficiaries increasing from 1600 to over 3600 children annually across 65+ childcare institutions in 4 states. The NGO has also provided higher education and skill training to over 120 adolescents and successfully placed 40 children in jobs.
The highlight of the event was the ramp walk wherein 30 renowned personalities graced the ramp along with their families. With leading designers showcasing their latest collection. 30 leading artists have contributed their work to the art auction, it’s a Miraki Art Auction,curate by Jaya Lamba. Merlin Dsouza, the leading music composer and Pianist with Shai Diwan, Shahriyar Atia and Suneeta Rao entertained the audience.
