Girl's head sliced in two by blade that flew off lawnmower in school playground

A playground may seem to be one of the safest spaces for children but some unexpected incidents can lead to tragedies. Several freak accidents have shocked people in the past few years as many take place at the unlikeliest of places.

14-year-old Nur Afini Roslan was playing on the field at her school in Malaysia when things went terribly wrong. A lawnmower malfunctioned causing a blade to fly off and slice the teenager’s head in half.

Two other children who were with Nur at that time suffered minor injuries from the accident. The police deployed a team following an emergency calls and the girl’s remains were taken to the hospital for post-mortem.

The police are investigating her death and it isn’t clear who was responsible for the maintenance of the mower.
