Uber's latest promotional message in Bengaluru sparks outrage on Twitter

Uber's chief brand ambassador was also not happy about it.

A Uber promotional message sent to customers in Bengaluru outraged many social media users for being sexist.

In the message, husbands were urged to “let your wife take a day off from the kitchen" by taking advantage of its Uber Eats food delivery service, BBC reported.

The tweet reportedly read: "Dear husbands, a gentle reminder - today is Wife Appreciation Day."

After receiving a series of angry tweets over the message, the company removed the tweet and apologised.

"We've removed it, and we apologise," Uber stated on the social media platform.

Bozoma Saint John, Uber's chief brand ambassador also shared her outrage and said it was "unacceptable".
