Kiran Amlani, Tejal Bajla and Shreya Lamba founded The Mommy Network in 2014 as a support system for like-minded mothers in Mumbai, where they could share their stories, questions, doubts and feel connected. Recalling how it all started, Shreya says, “Kiran and I met at a pre-natal class and went through the overwhelming first phase of motherhood together. It was then that we decided to create a Facebook group of our mommy friends, which would be a space where we could openly share our stories, our struggles and our triumphs.” Soon, Tejal joined the duo to help institutionalise the group. Today, this curated Facebook group has grown to become a platform for mothers, momprenuers (mom entrepreneurs) and brands catering to a target audience — young mothers. An extremely responsive network, The Mommy Network has blossomed into become a powerhouse platform among mothers across the city, offering numerous online and offline value-added solutions to this audience.

It wasn’t an easy climb. What started as a small support group for young mothers took no time to grow into a larger family. However, the rights to admission to this group were reserved. Recalls Shreya, “As soon as we created the group we were inundated with requests from mothers across the city to join.

But, we wanted to make sure the group is extremely curated and so, we personally spent time carrying out profile checks on every request we received to keep the quality of the group participants to the highest standard.”

The Mommy Network is a group of young mothers from all aspects of life. Celebrities like Shilpa Shetty, Avantika Malik Khan, Deepshikha Deshmukh, and Sameera Reddy among many others are also a part of this.

The network is hosting the second edition of its pop up for mothers and babies, which will not only serve as a space where they can buy products but also socialise. “All our picks are super high quality,” says Shreya, elaborating that only the best of the best of children’s brands make it to the pop up. “This year we have over 80 brands under one roof — covering every category possible.  It is a place for them to socialise with other mothers.”

But isn’t all. Shreya adds how they aim to provide a platform to mothers to network. “The pop up is a place where mothers can stop worrying about their kids for a few hours, network and, most importantly, feel special,” she concludes.
