A very hairy situation
Earlier, women across India took to Twitter to post their favourite picture in a saree, with the hashtag, #SareeTwitter. Once the trend began catching on, celebrities and politicians too joined in on the fun.
However, not to be outdone, men started showing off their facial hair with hashtag #beardtwitter, making it a new viral craze on social media.
One of the first people to join the trend was politician and National Spokesperson of the Indian National Congress, Sanjay Jha, who shared a picture in which he can be seen rocking the beard-look, with the caption, “#beardtwitter ? Well, time to join the party, I guess.”

It wasn’t just the men who were having fun with this trend as many women too shared pictures of their husbands. One netizen tweeted, “Pati won't post these, so I'm taking the initiative. Because, why TF not So, hi, #beardtwitter (sic)”.
Suzanne Nernert, a German actress who also took part in the #sareetwitter challenge, shared a picture of her dad as her contribution to this challenge. The accompanying caption read, “#beardtwitter with my Dad ...u see a trend? Lots of bearded Guys in my Life !! (sic)”.
