Christmas market, a site to behold
Prague is one among those few places that are preferred by tourists even during winter season. The city known for its architectural excellence and rich history has lot more to offer during Christmas. The experience of witnessing Christmas Eve in Prague is incomplete without attending the festive Christmas markets which this city hosts. Prague Christmas markets that are mainly located Wenceslas Square and Old Town Square start in November and run daily throughout December until the first week of January. Markets are usually open from 9 am until 7pm. However, food stalls are open until midnight. Though smaller markets are also set up in other parts of the city, the most beautiful is the Old Town Square market where a giant Christmas tree lights up the centre of the square, while the space around is transformed into a marketplace with decorated wooden huts and market stalls selling all kinds of small crafts and Czech delicacies including carved toys, unique handmade gifts, honey wine, ceramics, glass figurines and Christmas ornaments. Never miss drinking a cup of mulled wine at the Christmas market. Battling the hordes of visitors for a glass of mulled wine will be worth it when you are surrounded by twinkling Christmas lights and small wooden stalls. Spending a Christmas at Prague is a beautiful and festive sight to behold.
