Here's why Meghan Markle didn't have to sign a prenup

With an estimated £70 billion, Royals are one of Britain's richest families, while Prince Harry has a personal fortune of £30 million.

A lot of the rich and famous nowadays are tempted to ask their other half to sign a prenup, and with an estimated £70 billion in the bank, the Royals are one of Britain's richest families, while Prince Harry has a personal fortune of £30 million.

Despite that, Harry did not insist on the Duchess of Sussex, signing a prenup for her second marriage.

It turns out that this is in keeping with the rest of the family. Three of the Queen's four kids have got divorced - and none of them are thought to have had prenuptial agreements.

According to Katie Nicholl, author of Harry, Life, Loss and Love, she told Town & Country mag that she did not think members of the royal family sign prenuptial agreements.

While some may have expected the royals to enforce prenups after the high-profile divorce of Harry's parents back in 1996, one royal expert revealed that some of the family’s most valuable assets have never been at risk.

Diana walked away from her unhappy marriage to Prince Charles with a reported lump sum of £17.5m - as well as an allowance for her private office, and the right to continue living in Kensington Palace with the kids.

Duncan Larcombe, who wrote Prince Harry: The Inside Story, said a divorce poses no direct threat to any of the prominent royal residences, because the Queen owns them all.
