Trump refused' being named Time person of the year, Twitter goes berserk
The US President does it again!
Donald Trump recently claimed that he rejected a not-quite-official offer to be Time Magazine’s “Person of the Year.” The US President took to twitter to say that the magazine had told him the would “probably” be selected as Person of the Year. According to Trump, however, “probably” wasn’t good enough.
Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named “Man (Person) of the Year,” like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!

Time had in fact named Trump its Person of the Year last year. However, in June, The Washington Post reported that several of Trump’s clubs display what appears to be a cover from a 2009 issue of Time with Trump himself on the front. They turned out to be fakes.
Amidst all this Trump has been panned across social media for making those claims.
Andy Murray was among those piling in to mock the President, with the tennis ace saying he was "'probably' going to be named Sports Personality Of The Year too".
Bbc just called to say I was PROBABLY going to be named sports personality of the year but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!

And not only him, there were others who could not digest the information.

While another replied to Trump's claims,
So you're sticking with the fake Man (Person) of the Year Time magazine cover you had made for yourself? Bigly sad.

And one Nikki wrote,
Donald Trump is that guy in high school who gets rejected on a date then tells all his friends "Yeah she was begging me to be her BF but I told that bitch NO"

😂😂😂 Uh huh!
45. Is. So. F'ing. Pathetic.
Time magazine tweeted later that the president was “incorrect.”
“The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year. TIME does not comment on our choice until publication, which is December 6,” the tweet read.
Here are a few other tweets,
Nobody cares.

TIME should make Putin "Man of the Year" so Trump's fragile ego will have to do public battle with his treasonous deference 🙄 https://t.co/StWXzt1NXX
