Instagram keeps getting better and better. It now provides users with the option to join a friend’s live stream.

Instagram introduced a new video feature in October called ‘Go Live With’ that allows users to add friends to live broadcasts. Now, Instagram is adding a new feature to this.

It has added the option for the user to request to join a friend’s live stream.

The feature has been made available for Instagram users worldwide since Wednesday. Instagram announced the launch of this new feature on Twitter with the message “New! When watching a friend’s live video, tap the ‘Request’ button to let them know you’d like to join in.”

The live mode feature allows people to watch a user’s live stream and send comments, quite similar to ‘Periscope’. With the latest update, a fellow user canjump in and make a solo live stream more interesting.

Once the request to join is accepted, the user is added in within seconds and the stream splits either horizontally or vertically, allowing the screen to show both the streamers. Guests can be added to the session for camera-to-camera chats.

A user can remove a guest and add another one at any time.

Users can also choose to exit on their own.

The ‘Go Live With’ icon appears on the app in the bottom right hand corner of the screen, once you begin streaming a live video to your followers.

If someone is going live with a friend, users can see two circles stacked together on their stories bar.
