US embassy staff in Japan perform peppy Christmas dance

The staff members sang to the popular song 'Koi Dance' on Christmas Day

The US Embassy culturally earned brownie points in Japan on Christmas day. The staff members performed the sweetest dance to a popular Japanese dance number in Santa's costume and reindeer hairbands. The US Ambassador Caroline Kennedy too decided to show her affection and danced to the song which is now gone viral on social media.

The staff members performed the hit ‘Koi Dance’ (Love Dance) from a Japanese TV show, We Married as a Job, in a quirky style and even tried to lip-sync the lyrics. The dance video was liked so much that it got over 4 million views in just five days.

Apparently Japanese folks are quite impressed by the efforts of the staff. One user wrote in Japanese, “Wow, this is great”. Another quipped: “Americans are really good at getting carried away. A boring Japanese government would never do this.”
