Mumbai: If you’re a fan of the early 2000’s comedy starring Jack Black, School of Rock, then you have to be there at Crossroads School of Music’s Fourth Annual Concert – World Music Festival. Just like the movie, there will be students from various schools performing some of the chart toppers. Corporate honchos and city-based entrepreneurs, who learn music from Crossroads will also perform in a rock band setting.

Soumya Maradona Ghosh, musician and music educator, who has performed and conducted workshops globally says, “Learning an instrument and appearing for exams is great, but when you jam in a band with other musicians, work on a song right from scratch and finish it off by performing the same on stage in front of a big audience, that’s when you feel a different kind of joy, the one, which makes you eager to learn more and love your instrument(s)”.

Every year the theme of the concert keeps changing, and, this year will feature songs sung in French, Spanish, Portuguese, in addition to regional Indian languages, like, Bengali, Tamil, etc.

Kavya Vijayprakash, daughter of eminent playback singer, Vijayprakash (Jay Ho fame) and Ariana Mukherji, daughter of Bollywood actor Mahima Chaudhary will also be seen performing at the concert this Sunday.
