The scientific reason why sex with an ex feels good

Break ups are not the same for everyone and people have different relationships with their ex, and in cases when things end in a very ugly manner, there is always resentment about the former partner. But one notion which has been observed is that sex with an ex lover does feel great, and the reason for this is scientific.

Apart from the guilt and regret that follows, orgasms with an ex feel great because sex releases chemicals that strengthen existing emotions of attachment and love. This feels much better with an ex because these feelings are already there and people have had sex with the person several times.

Even though the break up might have been a catastrophe, the feelings of familiarity and the connection stay on. The familiarity creates an environment of security where everything else is blocked out and the two can focus on sexual stimulation.

But texting an ex might not be a great idea after all, since the self loathing and low self esteem takes over once the feeling of security and the bonding with an ex wears off. This can leave you in a terrible place emotionally and may take toll on your sex life and relationships.
