Scientists have found that making love has a feel good factor associated with it and there is an ‘afterglow’ which lasts for up to 48 hours after doing the deed, which could include a quickie as well.

That is not all, studies show that sex boosts the immune system, strengthens the bones and even reduces wrinkles and cures insomnia.

Makes one look younger: Exploratory research conducted by Dr. David Weeks, a British consultant clinical psychologist and former head of old age psychology at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, says regular sex can make both men and women look five to seven years younger. Sex boosts the levels of a human’s anti-ageing hormone DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone).

Gives longer life: Regular sex can add three to eight years to life expectancy. A Wilkes University study found that sex helps in creating immunity building proteins in body which help people to live longer. Two times a week or more is considered regular sex.

Sex improves fertility: Regular sex helps improve men’s fertility. Tests have shown that a man’s sperm quality drops through abstinence. And the lowest quality sperm is found in men who haven’t had sex for ten days.

Offers protection against colds: Sex helps immune system fight off the common cold. According to experts, it raises the level of immunoglobulin (IgA) in the body, increasing protection against colds and flu.

Keeps one skinny: Sex is a physical activity. A sex session can burn 200 calories, which is like running for 15 minutes on a treadmill.
