Vikaas Gutgutia, Founder and MD, Ferns N Petals and owner of Udman- India's first wedding hotel, shares some expert tips that one can follow while booking their wedding locations.

List your functions: It is very important to know what all functions will take place at your wedding. Choosing a destination which can incorporate all your functions under one roof will help you save and also the management becomes quite easy. To suggest best, book for wedding hotels instead of regular hotels as they provide with maximum facilities.

Get a grip of guests: Be it the first wedding or the last wedding of your house, the number of guests keep on increasing. Get an approximate number as to how many guests you'll invite before settling on a venue. Always allow for a 25 to 30 square feet per guest as you also need to arrange the tables, waiters and other things. One should always book for a place where the options of the halls or the banquets are more and you don't have to compromise.

Decide the wedding theme in advance: Having the right theme for your wedding needs to be decided well in advance. One should not mess up with different themes and should always go for a single theme either based on colours or an event. Bollywood themes or a Rajwada based decor are something one should consider for their different functions. The wedding hotels also provide with many options for the wedding themes in comparison to the usual hotels or resorts. This saves up your coordination part and also you can better understand the decor according to the space.

A no crowded palace: If you're getting married anytime between October- January, then getting a good place is also difficult. A place which is a little far away from the city or a hotel which deals into multilevel accommodation for the functions should always be your choice. These places, many a times, save up your cost as well and also bring in a lot of space for your functions.

Food to die for: One should always keep in mind that the place they are about to book should serve the best food and should also have multiple varieties for the different functions. Tasting the food should always be the priority and one should always visit the venue for a marriage and see the arrangements.
