ATHEN'tion history lovers
I visited Athens in Greece with my crew for the location scout of my next movie, Butterfly directed by Ramesh Aravind. We have a schedule there from May 27, and I have a few upcoming projects to be shot there. I was fascinated by the Parthenon in the Acropolis of Athens, which is the oldest structure in Greece.
There are many must-visits — Santorini, which is one of the Cyclades Islands on the Aegean Sea. Mykonos is another island, known for its party atmosphere. The Acropolis is beautiful. As a vegetarian, I have restrictions and dislike European but Greece is surprisingly a very good place for vegetarians.
In New York, I wanted to go for a helicopter ride and that had to be rescheduled because bookings were full and it taught me a lesson to pre-book. That's why my entire trip to Greece was well planned which helped me make the most out of my day at Acropolis, Santorini and Mykonos.
I generally do not buy clothes for family as I don’t believe in buying for the sake of it. After Greece, I went to Paris, and shopped there and love the variety and the presence of all the big French brands for bags and other things.
I would love to take my family to Greece. In fact, for my next schedule, I am taking my mom along. I’d taken her to Paris and she did not quite like it, for shopping it was alright but Athens is better for sightseeing. I’d suggest getting Google translate which helps in communication and also have the local helpline numbers.
