Two arrested for opening fire at man in South Delhi
New Delhi: The police arrested two men, including a juvenile, on Wednesday in connection with the case of opening fire at a man in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar on Monday.
Based on the CCTV footage and credible information, the Malviya Nagar police apprehended two persons. The suspects, identified as Lalit Kumar and the other who was a juvenile, was arrested on the complaint filed by Kuldeep Sehrawat. The police are questioning them in the case.
Two armed assailants opened fire at Mr Sehrawat in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar on Monday. In a miraculous escape, the bullet brushed past Mr Sehrawat by slightly touching his neck, leaving him injured. However, Mr Sehrawat chased down the assailants and managed to nab one of them.
But the duo managed to flee after the other assailant attempted to harm his daughter, who was also the eye witness in the incident.
Mr Sehrawat was with his daughter when the incident took place. The police said that the victim was on his way home after picking up his daughter from a nearby bus stand when the incident took place in Malviya Nagar on Monday noon.
A resident of Chirag Delhi and a small time businessman dealing in property rental, Mr Sehrawat, after picking up his daughter Geetika, from the bus stand was heading home when he was shot from behind.
Malviya Nagar police had registered the case under Arms Act and attempt to murder.
