Vijay Goel to lead cycle rally to protest govt's failure
New Delhi: Former Delhi BJP president and union minister Vijay Goel will lead the anti-pollution cycle rally to protest against the Arvind Kejriwal government’s failure to curb the menace of air pollution.
Mr Goel said that he has invited RWAs, environmentalists and students to join this movement and a social media campaign #RightToBreathe will also be initiated to create awareness on the drive.
Citing the latest WHO report, Mr Goel said that Delhi has been ranked amongst top most polluted cities with maximum pollution level (PM10 level). He slammed the AAP government for its inaction and engaging in a war of words instead of taking constructive steps to save Delhi from international shame.
“The government brings up “odd-even” like mantras which are nothing but a means to blow up taxpayers’ money in publicity. Be it lack of judicious use of green tax or revamping the public transport system, the government has failed on all fronts and left Delhiites choking,” said Mr Goel.
The BJP leader alleged that Mr Kejriwal spends most of his time reviewing movies on twitter and indulging in blame-game and power tussle.
“Some reports point out how youth are falling victim to respiratory diseases due to Delhi’s toxic air quality. The collection of green tax and not spending it shows AAP’s lack of seriousness in managing the situation,” he added.
