Delhi: 450 applications received on Day 1

This year, the board has added 468 seats more to its existing 11,732 seats, making it a total of 12,200 seats on offer.

New Delhi: Delhi University’s Non-Collegiate Women Education Board (NCWEB), which began with the admission process under the first cut-off list on Saturday, has received nearly 30 applications from female aspirants having over 90 per cent aggregate in Class 12 board exams.

The board released the first cut-off on Friday night with the highest cut-off being declared by Miranda House and Hansraj College at 90 per cent for B.Com. and 88 per cent for B.A. programme.

On the first day of admissions, NCWEB, received over 450 applications in total. While NCWEB received maximum applications for Miranda House centre with over 30 applications, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College and Shri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce received around 22 to 23 applications.

This year, the board has added 468 seats more to its existing 11,732 seats, making it a total of 12,200 seats on offer. Of these, 7,400 seats will be for B.A. programme and 4800 seats for B.Com.

The increased seats will be offered at a new centre being started at Deen Dyal Upadhyay (DDU) College.

The NCWEB already has 25 DU colleges as its centres and will now admit a total of 12,200 students this year in 26 centres.

The cut-offs are reportedly expected to drop significantly by over 2 to 3 per cent by the next few lists. The varsity administration believes that the NCWEB is likely to see a rush of aspirants on Monday and Tuesday.

The non-collegiate programme of teaching is low cost and utilises the existing infrastructure of the varsity colleges during Saturdays, Sundays and academic breaks.
