BJP ropes in SRK to connect with slum youth

The children will be selected from 14 slums spread across the city, where Mr Tiwari visited, added Mr Bakshi.

New Delhi: The Delhi BJP has planned several initiatives to connect with slum youth, which includes interactions with successful achievers from various fields. In one such event, about 1,000 slum children and youth will get an opportunity to interact with actor Shah Rukh Khan on August 11. The idea, conceptualised by Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari, will give an opportunity to children and youngsters from underprivileged sections of the society to know how these people with their sheer dedication and hardwork reached to the top.

“These children will get an opportunity to know how these successful people struggled in their initial life and turned their fortune with hard work. Shah Rukh Khan and other celebrities will share their experience with the children,” Mr Tiwari told this newspaper. As per the plan, the first interaction will held at a theatre in the national capital during the special screening of Khan’s latest film. “About 1,000 slumchildren will see the special screening of film with Khan. During interval, these children will get an opportunity to interact with the actor,” said the head of Delhi BJP media relation department, Neelkant Bakshi.

For this once in a lifetime opportunity, children will be selected from different slums where Bhojpuri superstar-turned-politician Manoj Tiwari stayed during his night stay campaign last year. “The children will be selected from 14 slums spread across the city, where Mr Tiwari visited,” added Mr Bakshi. On Monday, Mr Tiwari joined Shah Rukh Khan and actress Anushka Sharma and director Imtiaz Ali in Varanasi during the promotion of the film.
