Youth undressed, beaten up by his college student union

According to the student, his only fault was that he wanted to know how the money under the Students’ Aid Fund was being spent.

Kolkata: A student of St. Paul’s College in central Kolkata was allegedly undressed and was then thrashed by the student union members affiliated to the Trinamul Congress, recently, after he sought explanation from them about the fund utilisation of the student’s forum.

On Sunday the victim, who is also a member of the same union, showed a video which was circulated in a social networking site. The video suggested the attack and assault on him apart from images that some youth taking off his clothes forcibly.

According to the student, his only fault was that he wanted to know how the money under the Students’ Aid Fund was being spent.

He accused the college unit president of the Trinamul Chhatra Parishad: Arnab Ghosh, a student: Abhijit Dolui, a non-teaching staff: Ananta Pramanik and a student of another college Sheikh Enamul Haque of attacking and abusing him and clicking the video of him to teach him a lesson. The victim has lodged a complaint with the college authorites. Mr Chatterjee assured of looking into it.
