SRCC unlikely to have 3rd cut-off

The varsity officials said that the reduction in the second cut-off is on the basis of seats available in the respective courses.

New Delhi: Shri Ram College of Commerce, which closed admissions for B.A. Economics (Hons) after the first cut-off list itself, is unlikely to declare a third cut-off list for B.Com. (Hons).

DU, which released the second cut-off list on Fri-day night, witnessed a higher turnout of aspirants on Monday as compared to the response to the first cut-off list that was announced on June 23.

While most of the colleges, including Kirori Mal College and Miranda House, reduced their cut-offs in the second list with a minor dip of 0.25 to 2 per cent, there are few colleges like Hansraj College and Ramjas College which reduced the cut-off for BA programme and B.Sc. (life science) upto 3 and 5 per cent respectively. Some colleges have even closed admissions in several courses. The varsity officials said that the reduction in the second cut-off is on the basis of seats available in the respective courses.

“There are chances that some colleges might not even declare a third list for most courses as they are getting a huge respo-nse in the second list itse-lf,” a varsity official said.

Admissions for the second cut-off will be concluded between July 1 and 4, following which colleges will issue the third cut-off list on July 6, if required.

Meanwhile, the varsity’s School of Open Learning received over 14,500 applications for its most sought after courses — B.A. programme and B.Com. programme — ever since the online registration portal opened on June 1.
