HIV patient held for sex with minor
New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a 52-year-old man suspected to be an HIV patient was arrested for allegedly having “oral sex” with the minor son of his tenant in East Delhi’s Mandawali area on Friday.
According to the police, the accused had carried out the act three-four times with the minor over the last week and the child is quite traumatised after the incident.
The police said that the incident took place on Friday late noon when the accused took the five-year-old boy to the terrace of his house on the pretext of playing with him and allegedly had “oral sex” with the child. The minor’s family has been living as tenant since few years in his three-storeyed house. The accused is married and lives with the family. The incident came to light when the scared child, who was shaken, narrated the horror to his mother who in turn informed the police.
Based on a complaint filed by the mother, the accused was arrested from his house on Friday and a case under Section 377 (Unnatural offences) of IPC and relevant sections of POCSO has been registered against the accused.
When questioned, the accused allegedly told the police that he had been undergoing treatment for HIV for the last seven-eight years. However, when contacted, a senior police officer said that they are yet to verify his claims of being HIV infected and refused to comment on that.
The police will be getting him medically examined while the minor was also medically examined. The child is undergoing counselling as the incident has shook him.
The police is also investigating whether the accused had targeted other children in the same way.
