New Delhi: BJP president Amit Shah on Monday inaugurated the first ever NaMo Yojana Kendra, an initiative by Union minister Vijay Goel.

The NaMo Yojana Kendra, inaugurated at Mr Goel’s residence on Monday, is aimed at helping people to know the various schemes and policies formulated by the central government.

After inaugurating the kendra, Mr Shah said, “This is one of a kind facilitation centre where the general public would get first-hand information about various central government schemes such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Mudra, Ujjwala Yojana among others.” And this would go a long way in creating awareness about these among the general public, he added.

Volunteers at the NaMo Yojana Kendra (NYK) would also help people to opt for flagship schemes and avail the benefits.

The centre would also involve RWAs and other stakeholders to create awareness among the masses. Various banks and central agencies too would set up kiosks and mini-stalls to distribute forms and information about schemes beneficial for the masses.

Mr Goel said that the kendra’s concept would set an example for others to initiate similar facilitation centres.

During the inaugural function, an exhibition on central government’s achievements was displayed by the directorate of advertising and visual publicity along with cultural performances by artistes on the success stories of central schemes meant for empowerment of students, women entrepreneurs, farmers and poor people.  Mr Goel said the kendra would stress on learn and teach technique so that volunteers and others can learn about various schemes.
