Manoj Tiwari calls ex-leaders to strenghten Delhi BJP

Tiwari also announced that the new leaders will form their four or five members team with consultation of state president said another leader.

New Delhi: Unhappy with the non-performance of current office bearers, Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwari on Wednesday held a meeting with about 60 ex-office bearers and requested them to work as the eyes and ears of the state leadership to strengthen the party. Sources said that Mr Tiwari also announced the formation of about two dozens departments whose responsibility will be given to the experienced party workers.

Questions were raised on the performance of current office bearers after the Delhi BJP failed to organise a proper programme to observe martyrs day of its ideologue, Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, on July 23.

“Responsibility of organising such a programme lies with the four general secretaries,” said a party leader. To correct the mistake, the party is organising a programme on July 6 to celebrate the birth anniversary of Dr Mookherjee in which union finance minister Arun Jaitley will talk about the GST.

Mr Tiwari also announced that the new leaders will form their four or five members team with consultation of state president said another leader.

The new departments are good governance, training, policy research, media, media relations, political feedback and response, national programme and meetings, sahyog and disaster relief, publicity and literature, legal, party journal and publicity and others.
