Five-star hotel staff alleges harassment
New Delhi: A woman employee of a five-star hotel located near the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport alleged she was subjected to sexual harassment by her security manager who also tried to abduct her in his car after she refused to develop a physical relation with him. A senior police official said the police lodged a case with the IGI airport police station after receiving a complaint from the victim. However, they have not made any arrest so far.
The victim, who has been working with the hotel as a general service administration (GSA) employee told the police that Pawan Dahiya, the security manager of the hotel had been stalking her for a long time. “She alleged that Dahiya had been forcing her to develop a physical relation with her. Last week when the victim was celebrating her birthday at the hotel, the accused called her to the CCTV room where another employee of the hotel was also present. The victim alleged that Dahiya tried to remove her clothes and when she resisted she was threatened of dire consequence. The victim mentioned that after half-an-hour of the incident she decided to go to home, but to her surprise Dahiya was waiting for her in his car outside the hotel. “Dahiya allegedly tried to drag her inside the car, however she managed to break free and ran away.
She then called her HR officials and later reported the matter. to the police,” the police said. The police said that they are examining the CCTV footage of the hotel and are investigating the matter.
