Four deported to Dubai after ruckus at IGI airport

The group allegedly allegedly misbehaved with immigration officials and tried to damage the immigration counter.

New Delhi: High drama prevailed at IGI airport when a group from Dubai agitated when they were asked to fill immigration forms on Monday night.

The group allegedly allegedly misbehaved with immigration officials and tried to damage the immigration counter. They were later sent back for their misbehaviour and refusal not to cooperate with the immigration officials.

It all began on Monday night when a Kuwait national identified as Nawaf Alotaibi along with three women passengers arrived from Dubai at the IGI and approached the arrival immigration counter and refused to fill a form so as to clear immigration.

“The immigration officer requested him to fill the form, but Mr Alotaibi got annoyed and refused to fill the form and started abusing the immigration officer. In between another passenger, Virendra, who arrived from Bangkok tried to pacify him, but in vain. Mr. Virendra also lost his cool and slapped Mr Altoaibi,” said a senior airport official.

Meanwhile, the Central Industrial Security Force and immigration officials pacified both the passengers and controlled the situation. After Mr. Altoaibi filled the immigration form, the women passengers accompanying him denied to unveil their burkhas for identification.

“A woman immigration officer was also called, but the women did not co-operate. They again started abusing the immigration officials and tried to damage the immigration counter,” said the official.

“We informed the matter to the police who reached at the spot. Finally, frustrated with their behaviour the immigration officials sent them back to Dubai under escort,” he said.
