Mobile app soon to upload pic of bad roads in Delhi
New Delhi: The names of agencies which are not repairing roads in the National capital will soon be made public by the Delhi government, Public Works Department (PWD) minister Satyendar Jain said on Tuesday.
The city roads are maintained by multiple agencies including Delhi government’s PWD, the three BJP-ruled municipal corporations and the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).
Mr Jain said a mobile application, through which people can upload photos of bad roads, would be launched in two-three months and the names of agencies not repairing roads would be made public.
Lieutenant-governor Anil Baijal had asked the government to set up the app on Monday.
The minister said that PWD, the nodal agency for the app, would pressurise the agency concerned to fix the road and also share details with the public on a regular basis. Mr Jain said complaints filed in the app would go straight to the officer concerned so that there was no delay in repairs. Potholes will be fixed within 24 hours.
He flayed the three BJP-controlled municipal corporations for not repairing roads and said the civic bodies had become “shops to mint money”.
